Sweaty feet are annoying. Not as visible as armpit stains or a shiny forehead, but you know they’re there. Your shoes know. Sometimes other people know. The problem isn’t just heat – bacteria loves moisture, and that’s when the real fun starts. Here’s what actually works.
1. Wear Certain Socks
Skip the polyester and nylon. They trap everything. Cotton or wool socks let your feet breathe, and they don’t turn into dampfoot prisons by noon. If you’re sweating through cotton, wool handles moisture even better.
2. Wash Your Feet
Daily. Soap and warm water. Scrub the top, bottom, and between every toe. Bacteria camps out in the spaces you skip, and bacteria makes sweat smell worse.
3. Change Socks Regularly
You sweat at night. Not a lot, but enough that yesterday’s socks are already working against you. Fresh pair every morning. If you work out, change again after. Don’t negotiate with damp socks.
4. Baby Powder
Works as a sweat absorber. After you shower and your feet are bone dry, dust both feet with baby powder and immediately put on socks. The powder needs dry skin to stick to, or you’re just making paste.
If none of this helps, botox shots exist. Same thing they use for armpits – blocks the nerve signals to sweat glands. Talk to a doctor if you want that route.
