Gum is immune to machine-washing. Trying to wipe or scrape it off with your hands just spreads the mess.
1. Freeze It Off
Stick the garment in your freezer for 2-3 hours. The gum hardens completely, and you can peel it off in one chunk. Works on most fabrics and it’s fast.
2. Use Heat with Deep Heating Rub
For delicate fabrics that might not survive the freezer, apply a deep heating rub like Bengay or Move directly to the gum. The heat makes it pliable, and the menthol loosens its grip on the fabric. Scrape gently with a butter knife after 5 minutes.
